MEET THE TEAM
Lynne danced with the Shirley Halliday Dance School in Perth from the age of seven until 15.
During her time there, she studied RAD Ballet, tap and Jazz. As a child she was involved in numerous television appearances on Perth’s local variety shows. Lynne has been involved in numerous productions as an actor and choreographer through the Highlands Theatre Group including Chicago and Stepping Out and has been teaching dance and drama at The Highlands School of Performing Arts for the past 9 years.
Lynne is also a continuing guest choreographer at Frensham school for their annual Musical Production. Lynne's last role was Annie in Pigs Fly's production of Calendar Girls
Ashleigh started her dancing, acting and singing training in Bowral at The Highlands School of Performing Arts. After graduating high school she went on to complete her Certificate IV in Dance at The Village Performing Arts under the direction of Wayne Aspinall and Jacqui Howard. After this, she continued her training at The Australian Institute of Music under the guidance of Jennifer Murphy and graduated with a Bachelor of Music Majoring in Music Theatre. Ashleigh is now represented and works all throughout the industry.
Some highlights of her career thus far have been: Stacey Reid in the American TV Mini-Series ‘Reckoning’, Featured Dancer in the Australian film ‘Ladies in Black’ directed by Bruce Beresford, The role of Yosuzumi in the production of ‘Akio’ at The Hayes Theatre, Hero roles in Commonwealth Bank, Hungry Jacks, Krispy Kreme, Energizer and DiDi TVC’s, Choreographer and back up dancer for indie-pop artist Lola Scott (live shows and music videos), A member of The Rosy Orchestra in The Wiggles ‘The Dorothy The Dinosaur Show’ as well as multiple modelling and corporate dance gigs for various companies.
As well as having a passion for performing herself, Ashleigh has a love for teaching and inspiring the next generation. She has been teaching throughout Sydney and continues to travel to Bowral to teach and is passionate about our kids not only improving skills but finding a love for the arts.
Issy completed her Diploma of Performing Arts at Brent Street in Sydney Australia with a role of honour. Issy is represented by Jeep management and was featured as a dancer in Guy Sebastian’s film clip “Choir”. She also performed as a back up dancer for Guy on The Voice Australia, in his performance “Choir”. Issy was awarded NRG International Prodigy in Sydney where she then headed to the United States to work with many American leading choreographers such as Rustin Matthews and Mallauri Esquibel. She is also a Prodigy for The Dream Experience and works alongside and assists some of Australia’s leading choreographers. Issy was recently featured in Samantha Jade’s film clip which is to be released in early 2020. Issy’s commercial credits include Guy Sebastian, Timomatic, Samantha Jade, Jai Waterford and Marquee Sydney.
Lucianna has studied classical ballet since the age of 3 and over the course of 21 years, she has also trained in contemporary, lyrical, jazz, hip hop and musical theatre. During her 10 years with THSPA as a student, Lucianna received the THSPA Scholarship and two ‘Callback’ nominations for her HSC Dance Performance and Core Composition.
In 2016, Lucianna trained at Ev and Bow Full-Time Dance Training Centre and completed a Certificate IV in Dance, and later returned in 2019 to complete a Diploma of Dance Elite Performance. In 2016, Lucianna was involved in Nick Cave’s public art performance, “HEARD: SYD”, presented by Art and About Sydney and Carriageworks. Throughout 2017 and 2018, she completed her Certificate IV in Dance Teaching and Management, while teaching here at THSPA. In early 2020, Lucianna was lucky enough to be a part of Stephanie Lake’s “Colossus” performed at Sydney Festival, and performed at the Women’s Cricket World Cup at Sydney Showground.
In 2021, Lucianna was selected to commence her training with the Royal Academy of Dance to complete a Certificate in Ballet Teaching Studies to become a registered RAD teacher. Lucianna continually enjoys sharing the knowledge she has gained from her studies and professional work with her students.
JOADY CHAMBERS - classical ballet & ballet troupes
Born in sydney, Joady studied in the Royal Academy of Dancing syllabus at Rogerson ballet Academy obtaining her Solo Seal. In 1978 she win the RAD Bursary and was accepted into the Australian Ballet School. Once there she was awarded the Australian Ballet Society scholarship and danced the lead in "Lady and the Fool"
Joady joined the Australian Ballet Company and was quickly promoted to coryphee then soloist. The same year she became the first dancer to receive the annual Dancers Overseas Scholarship which enabled her to spend time in both New York and London training with England's most respected freelance teacher, John O'Brian. Her lead roles include Swan Lake, Taming of the Shrew, Equs and Don Quixote.
After leaving the company to have a family Joady has taught as a freelance teacher at McDonald College, teaching from Primary level to Advanced students auditioning for professional ballet schools and companies.
Joady and Karen Stanton (Director and owner) believe in a holistic approach to teaching children and with this in mind have expanded and developed the classical stream at THSPA. We now offer a comprehensive program that will cater to students who wish to pursue ballet at any level, from technique classes through to RAD
Lauren began her dance training at the age of 6 where she received honors throughout her exams in Jazz, Tap, Modern and BAL Ballet. She has continued to train in a variety of styles as well as performing at local and regional dance competitions, charity gala events, musicals, theme parks & NRL half time performances. Lauren continues to perform & share her love and passion for dance as a teacher.
