The Highlands School of Performing Arts
Built & Established in 2003, THSPA is the Southern Highlands only purpose built dance and performing arts studio. THSPA, the brainchild of Karen Stanton, has a proud history of providing quality dance, drama and singing tuition to the people of the Southern Highlands. We provide an inclusive and nurturing environment for students of all abilities, aiming to foster a love of the performing arts in a non-competitive environment. We offer a diverse program, incorporating all the performing arts in a holistic and safe space. We offer students the very best facilities with Harlequin dance floors, large studio spaces, shower and change facilities and even our very own cafe. We have onsite a dance shop to service our students, as well as an impressive Costume shop that is regularly used by local schools in their productions.

Karen Stanton Founder & Director
Karen was trained from the age of four in RAD Classical Ballet to Advanced Level. Later her preference was with Jazz, Funk, Lyrical Jazz and Musical Theatre. She holds a diploma in Physical Education & Dance and has over thirty years teaching experience in both Sydney and the Southern Highlands.
Karen has vast experience working as a choreographer and performer for Musical Theatre productions both in Sydney and the Highlands. She now divides her time between Bowral & Byron Bay.
